Last updated: 1 April 2026  ·  Effective date: 1 April 2026  ·  Version 1.2

1Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Veryfy platform — including veryfy.io, any associated mobile applications, APIs, or embedded badge services — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you are using Veryfy on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

Plain language:Using Veryfy means you accept these rules. If you don't agree, don't use the platform.

Veryfy is operated by LeaDe Technologies Ltd ("Veryfy", "we", "us", or "our"). These Terms apply alongside our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference.

2Who May Use Veryfy

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use Veryfy. By registering, you represent that:

  • You are at least 18 years of age;
  • All information you provide is accurate and up-to-date;
  • You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement;
  • You are not prohibited from using the services under applicable laws.

We reserve the right to refuse registration or terminate accounts where eligibility requirements are not met.

3Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to notify us immediately at verified@veryfy.io if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

You are solely responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Veryfy is not liable for any loss or damage arising from unauthorised use of your credentials.

You may not share, sell, or transfer your account to another person. Each account is for a single individual's professional identity.

4Capability Passport and Evidence

Your Capability Passport is your structured, verified professional record on Veryfy. You are responsible for the accuracy of all information, claims, and evidence you add to your Passport.

By uploading or linking evidence (artifacts, documents, code repositories, data exports, or any other files), you:

  • Confirm that you own or have the right to share the evidence;
  • Grant Veryfy a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and display the evidence as part of your Passport;
  • Acknowledge that evidence you mark as public may be viewed by employers and other registered users.

Important: Do not upload evidence that contains confidential employer information, trade secrets, personally identifiable information of third parties, or any content you do not have rights to share.

You may delete evidence from your Passport at any time. Deletion from public view is immediate; removal from backup systems may take up to 30 days.

5Data Protection

Veryfy collects and processes personal data to operate the platform and deliver verification services. This section summarises how we handle your information. Full details are in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

What data we collect

  • Account data: your name, email address, professional title, location, and login credentials;
  • Profile and Passport data: work history, role descriptions, outcome claims, skills, credentials, and any artifacts you upload or link;
  • Verification data: names and work email addresses of verifiers you invite, their responses, and signals automatically imported from connected platforms;
  • Character reference data: names, roles, and email addresses of referees, and their responses to the reference questionnaire;
  • Usage data: log data, device identifiers, IP addresses, session activity, and feature interactions, collected automatically.

How we use your data

  • To create and operate your account and Capability Passport;
  • To process, weight, and display verification signals on your Passport;
  • To send transactional communications (verification requests, confirmations, account alerts);
  • To improve platform accuracy, security, and scoring models using aggregated, anonymised data;
  • To comply with applicable legal obligations.

Plain language: We use your data to run Veryfy. We do not sell your personal data to advertisers or third parties — ever.

Who we share your data with

  • Employers and recruiters — only the portions of your Passport you have set to public or explicitly shared with them via a link or direct unlock;
  • Verifiers — limited context (your name, work entry title, and request note) to enable them to complete a verification or reference request;
  • Service providers — cloud hosting, email delivery, analytics, and payment processors, each bound by a data processing agreement and prohibited from using your data for their own purposes;
  • Legal and regulatory bodies — where required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of users or the public.

How we store your data

All data is stored on servers located within the United Kingdom and European Economic Area. Data is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.2 or higher). Access to personal data is restricted to authorised Veryfy personnel on a strict need-to-know basis. We conduct regular security reviews and maintain an incident response procedure consistent with our obligations under UK GDPR.

How long we keep your data

  • Active account and Passport data is retained for as long as your account remains open;
  • Verification signals and evidence are retained to preserve the integrity of your Passport record;
  • Log and usage data is retained for up to 12 months and then deleted;
  • Data provided by verifiers and referees is retained for the lifetime of the associated Passport entry and deleted when you remove that entry or close your account.

Deleting your data

You may delete individual entries, artifacts, or your entire account at any time from Account Settings. On full account deletion:

  • Your public Passport is removed immediately and becomes inaccessible;
  • Personal data is purged from our primary systems within 30 days;
  • Anonymised, aggregated statistical records (e.g. platform-level score distributions) may be retained indefinitely as they cannot identify you;
  • Certain records may be retained longer where required by law — for example, financial transaction records under UK tax regulations.

Your rights: Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, port, or object to processing of your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at verified@veryfy.io. We will respond within 30 days. If you are unsatisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

6Verification Standards

Veryfy uses a multi-layer verification system to assess and weight evidence. Verification levels range from self-declaration (lowest weight) to multi-source independent verification (highest weight).

You acknowledge that:

  • Verification is not a guarantee of accuracy.A "Verified" status indicates that a signal source has been processed according to our standards — it does not mean Veryfy independently guarantees the truth of the underlying claim.
  • Platform Pull verificationrelies on connected third-party services (e.g. GitHub, Jira). Accuracy depends on those services' data.
  • Manager and Peer verification relies on responses from individuals you invite. Veryfy does not independently validate the identity of verifiers beyond email confirmation.

Any attempt to manipulate, falsify, or game verification signals — including inviting fictitious verifiers or uploading fabricated evidence — is grounds for immediate account termination and may be referred to relevant authorities.

7Employer and Recruiter Use

Employers and recruiters who access Capability Passports through the Veryfy platform ("Employer Users") agree that:

  • Passport data may only be used for legitimate hiring and talent assessment purposes;
  • Passport data may not be scraped, stored in bulk, or redistributed outside of the hiring workflow;
  • Hiring decisions must comply with applicable employment law — Veryfy scores are one signal among many and should not be used as the sole basis for hiring or rejection;
  • Employer Users will not attempt to contact professionals through means obtained solely from Veryfy without the professional's consent.

8Intellectual Property

The Veryfy platform, brand, scoring algorithms, and all platform-generated content are the intellectual property of LeaDe Technologies Ltd. Nothing in these Terms grants you a right to use our trademarks, logos, or proprietary systems beyond what is necessary to use the platform.

You retain ownership of the content you upload to your Passport. You grant us only the rights described in Section 4. We do not claim ownership of your work history, artifacts, or professional narrative.

9Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Submit false, misleading, or fabricated work history, qualifications, or evidence;
  • Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with any organisation;
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the platform in bulk;
  • Use the platform in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations;
  • Interfere with the integrity or security of the platform, including attempts to manipulate scores;
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users or verifiers;
  • Use the platform to distribute spam, malware, or unsolicited communications.

10Third-Party Integrations

Veryfy integrates with third-party platforms (GitHub, LinkedIn, Figma, Jira, Notion, and others) to enable automatic evidence import. By connecting a third-party service, you authorise Veryfy to access the relevant data from that service on your behalf, subject to the permissions you grant during the OAuth flow.

Veryfy is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or terms of third-party services. If a third-party integration becomes unavailable, evidence previously imported will remain on your Passport, but future auto-sync will cease until reconnected.

11Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

Veryfy is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranty that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that verification results will be accepted by any employer.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Veryfy's liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the platform is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid to Veryfy in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) £100 GBP.

Veryfy is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of employment opportunity or income.

12Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Account Settings. We will process your deletion request within 30 days, subject to any legal obligations to retain certain records.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, engage in prohibited conduct, or if we are required to do so by law. We will provide reasonable notice where possible, except where immediate action is required to protect the platform or other users.

13Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless applicable consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction provide otherwise.
